Celebrate America’s birthday by attending the annual 4th of July parade in Dunwoody, GA the largest Independence Day parade in the state of Georgia!

Hosted by the Dunwoody Homeowners Association and the Dunwoody Crier newspaper, the event features festively adorned floats, marching bands, vintage cars, clowns and animals that parade down the streets of the city. The event is so well known that each year draws more than 2,500 participants and more than 32,000 spectators.

The parade usually begins around 9 a.m. on July 4th, and spectators line the two-mile route that starts at the intersection of Mount Vernon and Jett Ferry Road and proceeds west to Dunwoody Village near Village Burger.

The procession typically takes about an hour and is followed by post-parade activities including food and entertainment, where a food stand serves fresh, American favorites like hot dogs and barbecue, and awards are given for the best floats, antique cars, military vehicles, animal units, musical groups, themed characters and cheerleading teams.

Patriotic ceremonies include the traditional pledge of allegiance and national anthem, a U.S. citizenship swearing in and a concert hosted by the 116th National Army Guard.
